Long-chain-fatty-acid--CoA ligase 4 is a protein in humans that is encoded by ACSL4 gene. Activation of long-chain fatty acids for both synthesis of cellular lipids, and degradation via beta-oxidation. Preferentially uses arachidonate and eicosapentaenoate as substrates.
