    This rat DPP4 ELISA kit employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique to measure the levels of rat DPP4 in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It also uses the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to visualize and analyze the analyte levels through the color intensity. The intensity of the colored product is in direct proportion to the DPP4 levels in the sample and is measured at 450 nm through a microplate reader.

    DPP4, also called CD26, is a serine protease that is widely distributed in various organs and cells. Through regulating energy metabolism, inflammation, and immune function, DPP4 is involved in various physiological and pathological processes such as inflammation, energy metabolism, immune regulation, cell adhesion, and apoptosis. During the COVID-19 global pandemic, DPP4 was found to be an important marker that may play a significant role in disease progression. DPP4 is also a surface marker expressed in senescent cells. DPP4 has also been demonstrated to be associated with CD8+ T cell co-stimulation, B cell activation, macrophage polarization, and NK cell proliferation, playing an emerging role in modulating immune functions. Regarding its role in the immune system, DPP4 was shown to participate in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease as well as graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).

    Cell surface glycoprotein receptor involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-cell receptor (TCR)-mediated T-cell activation. Acts as a positive regulator of T-cell coactivation, by binding at least ADA, CAV1, IGF2R, and PTPRC. Its binding to CAV1 and CARD11 induces T-cell proliferation and NF-kappa-B activation in a T-cell receptor/CD3-dependent manner. Its interaction with ADA also regulates lymphocyte-epithelial cell adhesion. In association with FAP is involved in the pericellular proteolysis of the extracellular matrix (ECM), the migration and invasion of endothelial cells into the ECM. May be involved in the promotion of lymphatic endothelial cells adhesion, migration and tube formation. When overexpressed, enhanced cell proliferation, a process inhibited by GPC3. Acts also as a serine exopeptidase with a dipeptidyl peptidase activity that regulates various physiological processes by cleaving peptides in the circulation, including many chemokines, mitogenic growth factors, neuropeptides and peptide hormones. Removes N-terminal dipeptides sequentially from polypeptides having unsubstituted N-termini provided that the penultimate residue is proline.
