产品描述:
A DNA corresponding to 169-417aa of human LOX was fused with an N-terminal 10xHis-SUMO-tag and a C-terminal Myc-tag and then expressed in E.coli. The forming protein is the Recombinant Full Length of Mature Human Protein-lysine 6-oxidase (LOX). Its purity is up to 85% by using SDS-PAGE analysis. An approximately 50 kDa molecular mass band was presented on the reducing SDS-PAGE gel. In addition to antibody preparation, this recombinant LOX protein may also be used in research related to cardiovascular diseases. In-stock LOX proteins are available.
LOX (Lysyl Oxidase) is a copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyzes the oxidation of peptidyl lysine residues to form cross-links in collagen and elastin. This process is conducive to the formation of fibrous collagen and elastin, which plays a significant role in remodeling the extracellular matrix (ECM). ECM plays an important role in cardiac function. Dynamic alterations in LOX protein expression causes associated tissue-fibrosis, ultimately resulting in various cardiac diseases such as heart failure (HF), myocardial infarction, and cardiac hypertrophy.
