KISS1R

KISSIR is a gene encoding a protein named KiSS1-derived peptide receptor (also known as GPR54 or the Kisspeptin receptor), which is a G protein-coupled receptor binding the peptide hormone kisspeptin (metastin). Diseases associated with KISS1R include Precocious Puberty, Central, 1 and Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadism 8 With Or Without Anosmia. Among its related pathways are RET signaling and Signaling by GPCR. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include G protein-coupled receptor activity and neuropeptide receptor activity. An important paralog of this gene is OPRL1.
